What is RohuStudios?

RohuStudios isn't a business; I do business under my own name. RohuStudios is just my web site. That's why I call my web site, RohuStudios.com.

What's a Rohu?

Rohu is the first two letters of my first and last names -- Ro + Hu. It's also a fish, a carp, which is a delicacy in certain parts of the world. I like the fish allusion because of the old adage: Give someone a fish and they eat for day; teach someone to fish and they eat for a lifetime. For most of my engineering career I've tried to be a good mentor to junior engineers, and that adage comes up a lot. It's often quicker to do a task yourself than teach someone else to do it, but through teaching we can spread our knowledge and multiply our own capabilities.

Who am I?

I'm a software engineer who dabbles in iOS app development in his free time.

I started my software career in the early 1980s, writing my first program (in Fortran) for a PDP-11/60 running RSTS/E. Over the years I've programmed in many langues from Pascal and C, to C++, Java, and Concurrent C, writing code for everything from embedded 8-bit microprocessors up to 64-bit supercomputers.
